Medieval Broomstick

Description

This is a medieval broomstick on display in the Museum of Quidditch in London.

Records show that witches and wizards in Europe were using brooms as early as A.D. 963.
The first brooms bewitched were neither comfortable nor aerodynamic (they had rough twigs at the end and had unvarnished handles).  The charms on the broom were also basic; they would move at one speed, and only go up, down, and stop. Wizard families generally constructed their own brooms, so there was a variation in speed and comfort depending on the skill of the builder. By the twelfth century, wizards began to barter services, and a skilled broommaker could trade his services for, say, the potions of a neighbour.

It's fun that you have made it as if it is a display at the Museum of Quidditch!

The broom looks very three-dimensional, but the hill and rock on the display appear to be more flat. However,
the design of both the broom and the display are wonderful. The broom has a very interesting and organic shape; it looks like it was just thrown together out of found materials, which makes sense for an early broom. The strip of leather(?) on the handle adds some visual interest, and the wood has good texture. The elements of the display are all placed nicely to make the whole piece visually appealing. Good work!!!

I've enjoyed seeing your fan art, so I thought I would attempt to provide a helpful comment. :)

Is Quidditch one of your favorite aspects of Harry Potter? I love that the Wizarding World is so rich and full of detail!
